Climb to the Lovcen Mausoleum

After pickup at the agreed location, travel into Lovcen National Park for the mausoleum visit. Reaching the monument involves a climb of 461 steps, an important detail to consider when deciding whether the route suits your group.

The mausoleum commemorates Petar II Petrovic Njegos and stands at about 1,657 metres. Your guide introduces the Petrovic Njegos dynasty alongside the mountain scenery.

Admission to both the national park and the mausoleum is included. The visit combines the monument itself with the view from the observation area before the journey continues down towards Njegusi.

Taste the produce of Njegusi

A stop at a local tavern introduces the village through its food. The published tasting includes prosciutto and cheese, with honey wine, rakija, Turkish coffee or a soft drink among the accompanying choices.

This is the food stop included in the programme. Mention any dietary needs in your request.

Explore the former royal capital

The final town stop is Cetinje, where the proposed programme allows about an hour to walk through the streets and see its historic buildings. King Nikola’s Palace, the former royal residence, and Cetinje Monastery feature in the description. The monastery is associated with St Peter of Cetinje. Palace admission is excluded, so an interior visit should not be assumed.

Allow around six hours overall. Caeli recommends April to October and asks for at least two days’ notice. Comfortable shoes, sun protection and a jacket are on the suggested packing list; confirm the timing from your pickup town.
