Kotor Apartments
Self-catering apartments in Kotor and the Bay of Kotor
The bulk of accommodation around Kotor is self-catering apartments rather than hotels, this reflects the small physical footprint of the Old Town (a few hundred metres across) and the bay-village pattern of stone houses that have been split into rentals over the last decade. For families and groups, an apartment is usually cheaper and more flexible than a comparable hotel room.
Pricing varies sharply by location. Inside the Old Town walls, expect €80 to €180 per night for a one-bedroom apartment in season, less in shoulder months. Along Dobrota, Muo and Prčanj on the bay road, apartments run €60 to €140 with a balcony and bay view; the same price further out at Stoliv or Ljuta usually buys more space. Long-stay weekly rates from October through May drop another 30 to 40 percent.
Most apartments include a kitchen with stovetop and fridge, free WiFi, air conditioning, a private bathroom, and either a balcony or shared terrace. Linen and towels are standard; toiletries vary. Check-in is host-managed at most properties, confirm timing on arrival to avoid waiting outside the building. Parking is the most variable feature: free in bay villages, paid in the Old Town, often unavailable inside the walls.
