Kotor Hostels

Kotor's hostel scene is concentrated on a small handful of independent operators inside or just outside the Old Town walls. The town's compact footprint means even the hostels just outside the walls, typically in Škaljari or along the southern bay road, are within a 10-minute walk of the Sea Gate.

Beds run €15 to €25 per night in 6 to 10-bed mixed dorms, €18 to €28 in female-only dorms, with private rooms (when offered) at €40 to €70. Higher-end hostels include linen, towels and a basic breakfast in the rate; more bare-bones spots charge €2 to €5 extra. Common kitchens, lockers and free WiFi are standard.

Hostel social calendars centre on bar crawls inside the Old Town, group day-tours to Perast and Lovćen, and pickups for the Ladder of Kotor hike at dawn. Booking ahead is essential through July and August, Kotor draws a strong backpacker crowd from the cruise stops at neighbouring Tivat.
