The building features a symmetrical stone facade with decorative window frames, balconies and carved details characteristic of the Baroque style. Inside, the museum displays maritime artefacts, model ships, navigational instruments, uniforms, paintings and documents tracing the seafaring history of Boka Bay from the medieval period through the nineteenth century. The palace itself is a significant architectural specimen within the Old Town.

The museum is open to visitors during regular operating hours, which vary by season. An entrance fee applies, with reduced rates typically available for students and children. The collection spans multiple rooms arranged across the floors of the palace. The complex is within the pedestrian zone of the Old Town, accessible on foot from the main squares and gates.
