Kotor Beaches

Beaches and waterfront spots around Kotor Bay range from the town beach near the Old Town to quieter coves along the inner bay. The Bay of Kotor coastline is mostly shingle and rock rather than sand, and the enclosed geography keeps the water calm throughout the season, making it well suited to swimming from mid-May through to October. The town beach sits close to the bus station just outside the Old Town walls, while Dobrota's seafront is a short walk north along the coastal road. Further along the bay, the coves at Orahovac and Stoliv are quieter and less visited, lying roughly 10 to 15 km from Kotor and reachable by bike or car.

The outer coast offers a different character altogether, more exposed with clearer water and fewer people in peak season. The Blue Cave near Donji Stoliv is the most visited point on this stretch, accessible by boat from Kotor. Most waterfront spots are free to access and require no booking, though sun lounger areas at some established beaches operate on a paid basis in summer.
