St. Tryphon Square

St. Tryphon Square is the principal civic space in Kotor Old Town, situated directly in front of Saint Tryphon's Cathedral and serving as one of the central gathering points within the walled quarter. The square is a paved open area flanked by the cathedral facade, residential buildings and palace walls. The space has functioned as a focal point for religious and civic activity for centuries, owing to its position beside the town's most important church. Architectural elements surrounding the square date from different construction periods.

The square is freely accessible within the pedestrian streets of the Old Town at all hours. Visitors typically pass through when visiting the cathedral or walking between the main streets. Cafes and small shops may operate along the edges. The square provides a vantage point for viewing the cathedral's facade and twin bell towers.
