Kotor Cruise terminal
Kotor Cruise Port and Terminals
The Port of Kotor is Montenegro's main cruise terminal, with berths for international cruise lines and visiting yachts directly beside the Old Town walls in the inner Bay of Kotor.
The terminal sits on the seafront immediately west of the Old Town, with the main pier (Pier 1) used by larger cruise liners and the smaller berths handling tenders and yachts. Most calls happen between April and October, with peak traffic in July to September when up to four ships a day are scheduled. Vessels typically arrive between 07:00 and 09:00 and depart by 18:00 or 19:00, leaving passengers a single-day window to visit the Old Town and the bay.
Passengers disembarking can walk the 200 metres to the Old Town's Sea Gate (Vrata od Mora) without needing a transfer. Tour operators meet the ships near the terminal building offering bay boat tours, walking tours of the Old Town, day trips to Perast, Lovćen National Park and Sveti Stefan, and private excursions further afield to Cetinje. The cruise calendar is published by the Port of Kotor authority and updated through the season.
Because arriving cruise tonnage in summer routinely exceeds 10,000 passengers a day, the Old Town and the Lovćen serpentine road can be busy from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. Visitors not on a fixed cruise schedule often find quieter hours before 09:00 and after 17:00 in peak months.
