Kotor Art and crafts

The crafts trade inside Kotor's Old Town carries the lighter-weight half of the shopping mix: galleries, ceramic and pottery studios, and hand-made gift makers working in print, paint, glass and textile. Mustrica on the street to the cathedral runs prints and small handmade pieces from a single owner-operator. Pottery Station works ceramics on a wheel in store, with finished pieces priced individually. Cats of Kotor markets cat-themed prints, pins, plush toys and stationery to the cruise visitors who arrive through the Sea Gate each morning. Da Figura, Posejdon and Bay Art handle a mix of hand-made gifts, devotional wood pieces and printed local imagery.

The trade clusters around Trg od Oruzja and the lanes feeding the cathedral square. Most operators are single-room ateliers run by the maker, and most accept commissions on bespoke work with one to two weeks' lead time. The makers form a loose collective: many studios cross-recommend each other and several share kiln or studio space for larger fired pieces.

Most studios run a seasonal pattern, opening from April through October with extended evening hours during the cruise season and reduced or by-appointment trading from November to March. Card and contactless payment are standard at the larger studios, with smaller operators sometimes preferring cash. Spoken English is reliable across the Old Town craft trade given the cruise-passenger market.
