Kotor Bars

Bar drinking in Kotor splits sharply between the small squares inside the Old Town walls (Pjaca od Oružja, Trg od Mlijeka, Trg od Salate) and the harbour-side strip of seasonal lounges that runs north toward Dobrota. Inside the walls, the format is tucked-away wine bars, rooftop terraces and small cocktail spots, quiet enough that conversation is easy, with stone walls absorbing sound. Drinks run €3 to €5 for wine, €6 to €10 for cocktails, €2.50 for local beer.

Outside the walls along the bay road, the seasonal beach and lounge bars open from late June to early September. Live music, DJ sets and the bay view define the atmosphere, drinks are slightly cheaper than the Old Town and the crowds skew younger. Many of these spots wind down by midnight when the bay road traffic thins.

Off-season most harbour-side venues close. From November through April the evening trade falls back to year-round Old Town wine bars, hotel terraces and a handful of cafés on the main approach road. Bars typically stop serving at midnight in the off-season, later in the Old Town when there's a band playing.
