The church was built in the early twentieth century in a neo-Byzantine style, with a stone facade, a domed roof and an interior decorated with icons, frescoes and Orthodox liturgical furnishings. The iconostasis, the icon screen separating the nave from the sanctuary, is a central feature. The church holds regular liturgical services according to the Orthodox calendar.

The church is accessible on foot within the pedestrian streets of the Old Town. It stands on the same square as Saint Luke's Church, where two different Christian traditions exist side by side. Visiting hours outside of services may vary. Entry is typically free, though respectful dress is expected and photography restrictions may apply.

The neo-Byzantine architecture contrasts with the Romanesque and Gothic styles of older churches nearby. The church is part of the UNESCO-listed historic zone and contributes to the multi-denominational religious heritage of the Old Town.
