Kampana Tower stands at the northern edge of the Old Town, integrated into the medieval city wall system facing the Škurda River.

The tower was constructed as part of the defensive network designed to protect the landward approach to the town and connects directly with adjoining walls and bastions.

Its stone structure reflects military architecture from the period of Venetian rule, with a compact form adapted to river and land defence rather than coastal fortification.

The surrounding area links pedestrian routes between the Old Town gates, riverbanks, and adjacent sections of the historic fortifications.

Nice Photo Stop Near the Walls

4.0/ 5

We stopped by Kampana Tower while walking along the edge of the Old Town and it ended up being a good little photo spot. There’s not much signage or explanation, but the tower looks impressive up close and the setting by the walls and water makes it feel quite atmospheric, especially when it’s quiet outside of peak season. It’s not really an attraction you “visit” so much as something you pass and appreciate, but we liked that it felt less busy than other parts of Kotor. If you’re already exploring the walls, it’s definitely worth slowing down here for a minute or two.
